Charles A. "Charlie" Rominger , age 66 of Elwood, passed away unexpectedly on Tues., Jan. 14, 2025 at Ascension St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood.  He was born Aug. 6, 1958 in Elwood, the son of Lindle "Elwood" and Wilma Louise (Wade) Rominger.  Charlie was a 1976 graduate of Elwood High School.  He was an experienced carpenter, and worked not only on his own but both for Gentry Cabinetry in Anderson and N & K Cabinets in Elwood.  Charlie was a former member of the First Church of God in Elwood.  He enjoyed being outdoors hunting, morel mushroom hunting, and especially fishing.  Charlie liked raising his bees and selling honey locally.  He was a former member of the Elwood Conservation Club, formerly bowled on numerous leagues, and enjoyed restoring old furniture.  Charlie was a very caring man and would provide home cooked meals to those in need, especially on the holidays.  Charlie will be remembered as a man who would do anything for anyone.  Charlie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Charlie's family includes son, Nick Rominger of Elwood; daughter, Brooke (Ryan) O'Day of Fresno, CA; 4 siblings, Richard (Deena) Rominger of Kokomo, Gary (Theresa) Rominger of Greenwood, Ronald (Martha) Rominger of Alexandria, and Laura (Tim) Beeman of Elwood; 2 grandchildren, Colin O'Day, and Sydney O'Day; 1 great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.  Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Larry (wife Andy) Rominger.

A memorial service celebrating Charlie's life will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Mon., Jan. 20, 2025 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Minister Michael Bond officiating.  Visitation for family and friends will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 pm on Mon., Jan. 20, 2025 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood.   Memorial contributions are suggested to the Morrisett Food Pantry through the funeral home.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at copherfeslermay.com.
