Obituary

Charles C. "Chuck" Brewer , age 93 of Zephyrhills, FL and formerly of Elwood, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Pretty Pond Manor in Zephyrhills following a brief illness.  He was born October 31, 1931 in Elwood, the son of Pascal and Catherine (Claubaugh) Brewer.  Chuck attended Elwood Schools.  He married the love of his life, Margaret A. Switzer, on June 11, 1954, and they spent over 70 years of marriage together before her passing in 2024.  Chuck retired from Airfoil Textron (formerly Ex-Cello) in 1991 after working as a setup man for over 35 years.  He loved working and staying busy all the time, but Chuck's true life passion was farming.

Chuck worked on numerous local farms, but primarily worked at Yarling Hillside Farms and Maurice Pierce Farms for many years.  He loved all things John Deere green.  Chuck also worked for the Elwood City Cemetery Association primarily at Sunset Memorial Park for many years mowing and maintaining the property.  He was a longtime member of East Main Street Christian Church as well as member of the U.A.W. # 1384.  Chuck truly had a hard-work ethic that he instinctively passed along to all of his family.  He was an excellent provider and provided for all his family's needs.  More than anything, Chuck's family will remember him as a loving and caring father, papaw, and brother.

Charles is survived by 2 daughters, Julie Ann Croussore of Dade City, FL and Joy Annette Watson of Anderson; sister, Judy Groover of Cooksville, TN; 6 grandchildren, Sam (Liz) Hall of Indianapolis, Walter Eric (Elisha) Hall, III of Chesterfield, Christopher Shane (Danie) Hall of Spokane, WA, Quyntin Lewis of Greenwood, Kaleb Charles Lewis of Indianapolis, and Cameron Lee (Megan) Lewis of Pendleton; 4 great-grandchildren, Jordan Hall, Colt Hall, Rogue Hall, and Erik Hall; several nieces and nephews.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret Brewer in 2024; 3 children, Darryl F. Brewer, Keith C. Brewer, and Denise E. Brewer; 5 sisters, Betty Roberts, Wilma Neil, Christine Weeks, Catherine Parks, and Barbara Beeman; 4 brothers, William "Bill" Brewer, Howard Brewer, George Brewer, and Pascal Brewer, Jr.; son-in-law, David Croussore; and great-grandson, Lane Hall.

A funeral service celebrating Charles life will take place at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 15, 2025 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Tim Becker of Main Street Wesleyan Church officiating.  Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery in Elwood.  Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 am to 1 pm prior to the funeral on Friday, August 15, 2025 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association or the National Autism Association through the funeral home.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.copherfeslermay.com.
