Obituary

Carrie R. Faucett, age 89, of Anderson and formerly of Elwood died May 4, 2011 at Community Hospital in Anderson after an extended illness. She was born February 8, 1922 in Breathitt County, Kentucky the daughter of Gilbert and Sissie (Lovins) Richie. She worked in production at Guide Lamp in Anderson for nearly 30 years and retired in 1984. She also formerly worked at Red Gold in Orestes for 10 years. She married Joe Faucett on March 27, 1943. Carrie enjoyed quilting, gardening, canning produce from her garden, and caring for many loved ones.

Survivors include: Son – William T. "Tom" (Linda) Faucett of Anderson; Sister – Polly Jackson of Elwood; Brother – Tomy Richie of Alexandria; 5 Grandchildren – Robin Cline, Melinda Faucett, Melissa Bitter, Michael Priddy, and Angela Fox; 9 Great-Grandchildren – Thomas Faucett, Krista Faucett, Jarrett Cline, Trent Bitter, Ashley Fox, Aubrey Fox, Alivia Fox, Shaun Priddy and Christopher Priddy; Several Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by: Parents; Husband – Joe Faucett who died March 4, 1971; 2 Sons – Joe Gilbert Faucett and Lonnie Wayne Faucett; 2 Brothers – John Richie and Henry Richie; 2 Sisters – Rosie Miller and Bessie Gross; Nephew – Curtis Miller; Niece – Barbara Frye and Sister-in-Law – Mary Richie.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 PM Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Roger Gardner of East Main Street Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM Saturday, May 7, 2011 prior to the service at the funeral home.
