Obituary

Carolyn Mae Miller , age 87 and a lifelong resident of Elwood, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 26, 2021 at I.U. Health-Tipton Hospital after a long, full life.  She was born March 15, 1934 in Elwood, the daughter of Arthur and Rena (Keough) Heaton.  Carolyn was a 1952 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School in Elwood.  She married John William "Bill" Miller on September 3, 1952 and they shared over 30 years of marriage together before his passing in 1983.  Carolyn was a loving homemaker and caregiver nearly all of her life.  She was a true matriarch of her family, and she was passionate about caring for her husband, children, and extended family members.  She was a wonderful cook and took great pride in her home and property where she lived for over 65 years.  Carolyn was known for "doing things right" with an unmatched attention to detail.  She especially loved listening to music and dancing with her family at their home.  After a lifetime of caring for others, her family returned loving care to her in the last several years of her life.  They find comfort knowing she is reunited in Heaven with Bill and many other family members.  Carolyn will never be forgotten.

Carolyn's family legacy includes 4 children, Michael A. Miller, Tina M. (Richard) Street, Patrick H. Miller, and Cheryl L. (Rod) VanBuskirk all of Elwood; 10 grandchildren, Chad (Denise) Miller, Lindsay Osborn, Adam (Mallori) Miller, Casey Miller, Troy Meyer, Shane Street, Danielle (Scott) Biedermann, Cody (Rebecca) VanBuskirk, Corey (Miranda) VanBuskirk, and Caley VanBuskirk; 11 great-grandchildren, Zoe Miller, Drew Osborn, Reese Osborn, Kade Miller, Quinn Miller, Brayden Street, Angel Meyer, Christina Meyer, Anna Karina Meyer, Dean Biedermann, and Maurizio VanBuskirk; and several nieces and nephews.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John "Bill" Miller; sister, Betty and husband Loren "Cy" Cyphers; and former daughter-in-law, Lisa Miller.

Private visitation and funeral services will take place at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Pastor Scott Blaylock of Life Church officiating.  Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery in Elwood.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Lung Association.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.copherfeslermay.com.
