Carolyn Jean LeCount, age 68 of Elwood, passed away unexpectedly on March 21, 2015 at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital following a sudden illness at her home. She was born June 9, 1946, the daughter of Archie and Rose (Maly) Hook. She was a 1964 graduate of Frankton High School, and later married the love of her life, David L. LeCount on December 5, 1964. She was a Homemaker most of her life, and formerly worked at Ousley's Harvest Gardens for 13 years. She was a faithful member of the Frankton United Methodist Church in Frankton, and had formerly served on the Faithful Servers Meal committee. She formerly enjoyed being a 4-H leader for many years. She also enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren whom she adored. She was an amazing cook, and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
Carolyn's surviving family includes her husband of more than 50 years, David L. LeCount of Elwood; two sons, Ben (Angela) LeCount of Southport and Ed LeCount of Elwood, 6 grandchildren, Ashley (Spencer) Coleman, Cody LeCount and Anna LeCount, Jacob, Matthew, and Alex Cottey; sister, Marie (husband Richard) Symmes of Anderson; sister-in-law, LaVonne Benton of Fort Wayne; Several nieces and nephews; and many cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Rose Hook; stepmother, Francis Hook; and brother, Robert Hook.
A funeral service celebrating Carolyn's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Gary Elsten of the Frankton United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Forrestville Cemetery in rural Summitville. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 2 to 8 PM at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Red Bird United Methodist Church Mission through the funeral home.
