Caroline N. "Kay" Reese , of Elwood, passed away peacefully late Friday, Oct. 27, 2023 at her home, surrounded by her family after an extended illness.  She was born Aug. 26, 1952 in Defiance, Ohio, the daughter of Adam and Opal (Eurick) Bear, Sr. She was a devoted Homemaker and also formerly worked at R.C.A. in Marion for several years.  She married the love of her life, Robert Charles "Bob" Reese, on Aug. 21, 1971.  Kay enjoyed traveling, playing bingo, visiting casinos for fun, and spending time around her pool in the sun.  She especially loved collecting Angels and "Wizard of Oz" memorabilia.  Kay absolutely loved family gatherings, dinners, and Christmas celebrations.  Family was the most important aspect of Kay's life, and she treasured her children, grandson, nieces, and nephews.  Kay's legacy will never be forgotten.

Kay's family includes two sons, Robert Eric Reese of Elwood and Scot Adam Reese (husband Floyd Frieszell) of Anderson; sister, Kathy Vandyne of Goshen; grandson, Robert Elijah Reese of Elwood; sister-in-law, Jean Bear of Elwood; grandson's mom and "bonus" dad, Sabrina and Scott Cleveland; and several beloved nieces and nephews.  Kay was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert "Bob" Reese in 2002; and two siblings, Sherry (and husband Richard) Hardman and Adam Bear, Jr.

A funeral service celebrating Kay's life and legacy will be held on Friday, Nov. 3, 2023 at 11:00 am at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Pastor Gary Auten of Heartland Church officiating.  Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery.  Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2023 from 3 to 7 pm at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital for Children.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.copherfeslermay.com.
