Caroline "Sue" Morris, age 72 of Elwood, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis following an brief illness. She was born July 24, 1943 in Lebanon, the daughter of Faye Morton and Lena (Stephenson) Holliday. She retired in 1999 from Webb's Hallmark Store in Elwood as the Manager where she worked for 18 years. She also formerly worked at J. Lewis Small Company and Ex-Cello both in Elwood. Sue was a 1961 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School, and later married John J. Morris on December 24, 1964. She enjoyed shopping – especially at Kohl's, and visiting auctions and casinos. She also enjoyed feeding birds and squirrels; cooking and homemaking; and watching the Indianapolis Colts. More than anything, she was devoted to her family and was known for always putting others before herself.
Sue's family includes her husband of 51 years, John J. Morris of Elwood; 2 sons, Jeff (wife Beth) Cummins of Elwood and Monty Morris of Noblesville; daughter, Angie (husband Mike) Scott of Indianapolis; brother, Larry (wife Nancy) Holliday of Elwood; sister, Melody Holliday-Humble of Indianapolis; 7 grandchildren, David Cummins, Jesse Cummins, Ashley Cummins, Louis Morris, Samantha Morris, Savana Morris, and Lydia Scott; several great-grandchildren; beloved dog, "Chiquito"; beloved cat, "Freebie"; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jim Holliday.
A memorial service celebrating Sue's life will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Erin Taylor of the Church at the Crossing, officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on Sunday at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home prior to the memorial service. Burial will take place at a later date.
