Carole J. McPhearson, age 74 of Elwood, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019, at Riverview Health Hospital in Noblesville surrounded by her family following an extended illness. She was born in Elwood on May 28, 1945, the daughter of Danny and Mary Jane (Jarrell) Peters. She graduated from Wendell L. Willkie High School, and later attended Ball State University. Carole married her high school sweetheart David McPhearson on October 11, 1963. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She worked as a lab assembly technician at Delco Electronics in Kokomo until her retirement in 2001. She and Dave enjoyed family camping trips, fishing, and traveling. For their 25 th wedding anniversary, they took a memorable trip to the Bahamas. One of her favorite activities was playing video poker at the Hoosier Park casino. Family was everything to Carole, especially her grandkids. She kept up with all they were involved in, and enjoyed watching Lance at his baseball games as his greatest fan. She will be thought of often and missed by all those who knew her as a fun and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Carole's family includes her husband David McPhearson; twin daughters Melinda (husband Daniel) Heazeltine of West Lafayette and Michelle (husband James) Becklehimer of Elwood; brothers Thomas Peters of Logansport, James "Mike" (wife Pam) Peters of Elwood, and David (wife Helen) Peters of Elwood; grandchildren Alexis Heazeltine, Ben Heazeltine, and Lance Becklehimer; many nieces and nephews; and special lifetime forever friend Jeri Harris.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents, and sister-in-law Diane Peters.
A funeral service celebrating Carole's life will be conducted at 4:00 pm on Friday, June 28, 2019 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Pastor Rodney Ellis of the First Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Cremation will take place after services. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Friday prior to the service at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Grace United Methodist Church through the funeral home. Online condolences and memories may be shared at copherfeslermay.com.
