Obituary

Carol Ann Ball, age 62 and a lifelong resident of Elwood, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 14, 2017 in Elwood.  She was born on June 11, 1954 in Elwood, the daughter of Harold and Joyce (Hill) McElfresh.  Carol was co-owner of Prestige Art Glass and American Art Glass in Elwood since 1990.  She also formerly worked for Joe St. Clair for 4 years, and also worked at both Ann Hailey and Wayne Wimmer Law Offices for several years.  Carol was a 1972 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School. She married Jeffery C. Ball on November 15, 1975, and they shared 41 years of marriage together.  She was a devoted member of the Central Wesleyan Church in Elwood and an active planning supporter of the Glass Festival Committee each year prior to the Elwood Glass Festival.  Carol enjoyed babysitting for many years for all her family's little ones.  More than anything, she absolutely loved being a Grandma to her 5-month old grandson Nikolai.  She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and the Elwood community.

Carol's family includes her husband, Jeffery C. Ball of Elwood; son Jeremy Ball (fiance' Risha Huff) of Carmel; daughter, Lisa Ball of Elwood; sister, Diana Wright of Elwood; grandson, Nikolai; her in-laws, Brian (wife Robin) Ball, Bruce Ball (companion Therese Humphrey), and Anna (husband Jeff) Shope; beloved family member, "Aunt Dot" Carmine; uncle, Larry (wife Beverly) McElfresh; nieces and nephews, Benjamin Wright, Aimee Wright, Nicole (husband Shawn) Parker and their children, Isabelle and Elijah Parker; several nieces and nephews in the Ball family; extended family members Rev. Ben (wife Amanda) Capshaw and their children Noah and Isaac; and her Prestige Glass family, "adopted son" Danny Buttler, Brian Troutman, and Michelle Everett.  Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Joyce McElfresh.

A funeral service celebrating Carol's life will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Ben Capshaw of the Central Wesleyan Church officiating.  Cremation will follow.  Visitation for family and friends will be held from 3 to 9 PM on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the Nikolai Veraldi College Fund through the funeral home.  Online expressions of condolence may be made at copherfeslermay.com.
