Carol "Ann"
Baird
Jan 4, 1952 — Mar 7, 2023
Carol "Ann" Baird , age 71 and a lifelong resident of Elwood, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood after a battle with an extended illness. She was born January 4, 1952 in Elwood, the daughter of John and Louise (McPhearson) Morris. Ann was a 1970 graduate of Frankton High School. She worked at Red Gold, Inc. and formerly Fettig Canning Company for a combined total of 27 years and retired in 2014. Ann married Stephen Baird on November 21, 2014, and they shared 9 years of marriage together.
Ann enjoyed sewing and making quilts for several family members through the years. She also enjoyed camping, fishing, and "window" shopping. Ann always enjoyed spending time outdoors working in her yard and appreciated flowers and gardening. Her family was the most important part of her life, and she loved nothing more than spending time together and spoiling her grandchildren. Ann will be remembered for her beautiful smile and always being friendly to everyone she met. Her family is comforted knowing she is no longer in pain and has been reunited with her beloved parents in Heaven.
Ann's family legacy includes her husband, Steve Baird of Elwood; son, Arthur (Karina) Frye of Elwood; daughter, Annette (Tracy) Miller of Elwood; step-son, Chris (Jessica) Baird of Muncie; 3 siblings, Robert "Bob" (Ethel) Morris, Terry Morris (Ruby Claybaugh), and Linda (Paul) McCool all of Elwood; 4 grandchildren, Brooklynn (Derek) Idlewine, Shelby (Cody) Tatman, Adalia (Chris) Beeler, and Alex Frazee; 7 great-grandchildren, Maci, Gracelyn, Dustin, Aubrey, Rider, Madelyn, and Roman; sister-in-law, Debbie Bender of Arizona; brother-in-law, Duane Baird of Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ann was preceded in death by her parents and a great-granddaughter, Addilyn Idlewine.
