Obituary

Bryan Thomas Gunn, 65, of Anderson, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Community Hospital in Anderson after a brief illness. Born July 16, 1961, at Great Lakes Naval Hospital in Illinois, to Larry and Jeannette (Huntsinger) Gunn, Bryan was a 1979 graduate of Tipton High School. A true jack of all trades, he spent his career as a siding applicator and mechanic. Bryan found joy in life’s simple pleasures—mushroom and deer hunting, collecting arrowheads, and spending time outdoors working with his hands. He was most at home in nature, whether cutting firewood or exploring the woods. Bryan lived quietly but fully, embracing the beauty in simplicity and leaving behind a legacy of contentment and authenticity.

Bryan is survived by his father, Larry Gunn of Elwood; sister, Betsey Gunn of Elwood; brother, Bryce (Cathy) Gunn of Elwood; beloved dog, “Chloe”; and several aunts, uncles, and extended family members. Bryan is preceded in death by his mother, Jeannette (Huntsinger) Gunn; paternal grandparents, Thomas L. Gunn and Mary Coryell; maternal grandparents, William L. and Ruth (King) Huntsinger; step grandmother, Eva (Lane) Huntsinger; and brother, Bruce A. Gunn.

A memorial service celebrating Bryan’s life will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at First United Methodist Church in Elwood with Pastor Wynn Stenftenagel officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 pm prior to the service on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood is honored to assist the family during this time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elwood Animal Shelter. Online condolences and memories may be shared with the family at copherfeslermay.com.
