Bruce R. Gage, age 90 of Elwood, died Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Community Northview Care Center in Anderson following an extended illness. He was born July 26, 1921 in Perkinsville - the son of Ray and Lue (Richwine) Gage. Bruce was employed as a Sales Manager for the Schering Plough Company in Alabama for 21 years and retired in 1992. He was a graduate of Frankton High School and a member of the Aroma United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Elwood Elks Lodge #368, and had worked as a transport driver for several automobile dealerships. He was an avid football fan – especially the Indianapolis Colts; and a avid fan of collegiate basketball.
Survivors include: Wife whom he married February 19, 2005 – Illa Jeanne (Hester) Gage of Elwood; 2 Sons – Roger Gage of Cincinnati, OH and Randall (wife Patricia) Gage of Cold Springs, KY; Step-Son – Lindon (wife Ann) Craig of Muncie; Special Daughter – Susan Craig of Elwood; Sister – Jean Carr of Tipton; 2 Grandchildren – Laura Gage and Logan Gage both of Cincinnati, OH; 4 Step-Grandchildren – Alex Craig of Muncie, Nicole Morris of Orestes, Jarrod Craig of Indianapolis and Jana Craig of Fishers; 3 Step Great-Grandchildren – Cole, Ryan, and Kaleigh Morris; Niece – Ann Miller; and 3 Nephews – Bruce Carr, Tom Gage, and Kent Gage.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and former wife – Vera M. Gage in who died in 2000; Brother – Joe Gage; and Sister – Barbara Gage who died in infancy.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, December 12, 2011 at the Aroma United Methodist Church in Aroma with Rev. Dick Judson officiating. Burial will follow in the Aroma Cemetery adjacent to the church. Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 PM Sunday, December 11, 2011 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with an Elks Lodge Memorial Service at 5:00 PM Sunday evening.
