Brian S. Leavitt

Brian Scott Leavitt, age 58 and a native of Elwood, passed away unexpectedly on August 28, 2026 in Tuscon, Arizona. He was born June 15, 1968 in Elwood, the son of Ronald Cooper and Millie J. (Riddle) Leavitt. Brian was a 1987 graduate of Elwood Community High School and was known for his intelligence and academic ability. He enjoyed a carefree life focusing on enjoying simple things – traveling, socializing, and living in the moment. Brian was pleasant to everyone he met along life’s journey. He was an accomplished guitar player and often expressed himself through music. Brian was especially gifted with electronics and technology. His journey continues to a new destination.

Brian is survived by his daughter, Niki Santos of Anderson; brothers, Gary Cooper of Olympia, Washington and Rob (Heather) Leavitt of Kokomo; step-father, Rex Leavitt of Elwood; and additional family members in California. He was preceded in death by both his father and mother.

Cremation has taken place, and no formal services are scheduled to honor Brian’s wishes for simplicity. Arrangements have been entrusted to Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at copherfeslermay.com.
