Obituary

Brian A. Connors, age 55 of Elwood, died peacefully on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 31, 1958 in Elwood, the son of Bernard A. and Barbara Ann (Major) Connors. He worked in skilled trades for Metal Fabricators – a division of General Motors Corporation for over 20 years. He also formerly worked for Ex-Cello Corporation in Elwood for over 15 years. Brian was a 1976 graduate of Elwood Community High School. He was very passionate about farming, and spent much of his time working on his farm. He was a member of the United Auto Workers, and was an avid snowmobiler, and a member of a snowmobile club. Brian was an avid NASCAR fan and worked in racing and drag racing for several years.

Brian's family includes his father, Bernard A. Connors of Elwood; sister, Vickie (husband David) Wilson of Elwood; 2 brothers, Kevin Connors of Utica, MI and Patrick (wife Denise) Connors of The Colony, TX; aunts and uncles, Bob (wife Charlene) Connors of Elwood, Beverly Waters of Lafayette, Mary Wallace of Lafayette, Steve Connors of Lafayette, Rebecca Stanley of Columbus; special cousins, Carol (husband Larry) Courtney of Mississippi, and Harlan Kiddey of Elwood; nieces and nephews, Benjamin Wilson, Amanda (husband Rick) Romeo, Joshua Connors, and Heather Connors; great niece, Natalie Romeo; special friend, Lisa Kestler; and beloved dog "Ozzie".

Brian was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Barbara Connors who died in 2010; grandparents; and beloved dog "Harley".

A celebration of Brian's life will be held on Monday, September 9, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Father Dan Duff of St. Joseph Church in Elwood officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 2 to 6 PM on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.
