Barbara Ann Shrock, age 78 of Anderson and formerly of Elwood, passed away with her family by her side on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Edgewater Woods Healthcare in Anderson following an extended illness. She was born September 19, 1937 in Elwood, the daughter of Robert F. and Violet L. (Etchison) Shrock. She attended Red Corner School as a child, and was baptized in the Christian Church. Barbara enjoyed her life very much despite her challenges. She formerly worked at Hopewell Center in Anderson for several years, and enjoyed the work she performed. She almost always had a smile on her face, and especially liked having her stuffed, pink pig "Pinky" with her to comfort her. She formerly enjoyed riding her bicycle and latching rugs in her spare time.

Barbara's family includes two brothers, Richard (wife Patty) Shrock of Alexandria and Charles Shrock of Peru; and several beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Paul Shrock.

Barbara's family would like to thank the staff of Edgewater Woods, Heart to Heart Hospice, Hillcroft Services, DSA Group Home, and Hopewell Center for the care and compassion shown to Barbara for many years.

A funeral service celebrating Barbara's life will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Roger Gardner of East Main Street Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Elwood.
