Barbara S. "Sue" Metz, age 70 of Elwood, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Riverview Health Hospital in Noblesville after a long well lived life.  She was born on March 31, 1947 in Elwood, the daughter of Arnold and Betty (Dugan) Fletcher.  Sue worked for Community Parkview Care Center as a dietary technician for several years and also formerly worked at Dickey Nursing Home in Elwood in the dietary department.  She was a 1965 graduate of Frankton High School.  Sue married James W. "Jim" Metz on July 27, 1987, and they shared over 30 years of marriage together.  Sue also formerly worked for Ex-Cello Corporation in Elwood for 27 years.  She liked gardening, and going to rummage sales.  Sue enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and loved going shopping with them.  She will be greatly missed by her family.

Sue's family legacy includes her husband, Jim Metz of Elwood; 2 children, Heidi Decker of Elwood, and Scott (wife Debbie) Decker of Columbia, SC; 4 grandchildren, Halleigh Decker, Morgan Robinson, Sophia Decker, and Ella Decker; 2 sisters, Shirley Parker of Anderson, and Sheila Ray of Antioch, TN; brother, James (wife Chris) Fletcher of Bradenton, FL; and several nieces and nephews.  Sue was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Stanley Fletcher; and beloved dog, "Bailey".

A life celebration visitation for Sue will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 PM on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the National Kidney Foundation in honor of Sue's courageous battle with kidney failure, through the funeral home.  Online expressions of condolence may be made at copherfeslermay.com.
