Arlis "Randy"
R. Tyner
Aug 2, 1961 — May 12, 2024
Arlis R. "Randy" Tyner , age 62 of Elwood, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at Ascension Heart Center in Carmel following a sudden illness. He was born Aug. 2, 1961 in Elwood, the son of Arlis K. Tyner and Judith O. (Alumbaugh) Tyner-Higgins. Randy was a 1979 graduate of Tipton High School where his lifelong love of music began at a young age. He formerly attended the First Baptist Church in Elwood. Randy was an accomplished musician and guitar player who worked in the music industry all of his working life until his health prevented him from playing.
Deeply loved, he was a cherished son, brother, and cousin from a large family. An extraordinary musician, he lived life on his own terms, embracing his unique path in life. Randy was raised in a close-knit, small town, but ventured to California where he made his home for most of his life. He was blessed with a brilliant mind and had a profound appreciation for technology and its endless possibilities. Randy's love for dogs was unwavering, and his faithful companion, Lily, will forever miss the incredible bond they shared. His memory will be eternally treasured by those who knew and loved him.
Randy's family includes his father, Arlis (wife Becky) Tyner of Elwood; mother, Judith Higgins of Anderson; siblings, Rebecca "Michelle" (husband Chris) Skidmore of Carmel and Carrie Higgins; and beloved dog, Lily.
A memorial service celebrating Randy's life will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Pastor Scott Blaylock of Life Church officiating. Burial will take place in the Elwood City Cemetery at a later date privately with the family. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7 pm on Thursday prior to the memorial service at the funeral home.
