Aria Anne Rogers, age 58 of Roanoke and formerly of Elwood, died unexpectedly on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at her residence following an extensive illness. She was born on April 19, 1955 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of John and Lela (Lanning) Jeannot. She retired as a secretary from Modern Die Systems in Elwood; formerly worked as a credit manager at Red Gold in Orestes; and worked at the Anderson K-Mart. Aria was a 1973 graduate of Marion High School. She married Terry K. Rogers on August 5, 1972. She enjoyed quilting and sewing; and her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchild. Her and her husband formerly attended Heartland Ministries in Tipton for several years. Aria was very passionate about helping people affected by childhood cancer, and helping people in general. She also enjoyed Facebook and networking with others affected by Fibromyalgia. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Her surviving family includes husband of 41 years, Terry K. Rogers of Roanoke; 2 children, Heather (husband Brandon) Stenger of Lafayette and Greg (wife Michelle) Rogers of Thorntown; mother, Lela Jeannot of Marion; 3 sisters, Paula Tankersley, Denise David, and Carol (husband Bill) Dennison all of Marion; 8 grandchildren, Shelby, Kerri, Lucy, Janey, Emmie, Lillie, Abbie, Jaxon; great-granddaughter, Ryleigh; step-daughter-in-law, Bridget Bryan; and several nieces and nephews.
Aria was preceded in death by her father; son, Terry K. Rogers, II who died after birth in 1972; and step-son, Stephen Bryan who died in 2002.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 14, 2013 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Bill Salsbery of Heartland Ministries officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Elwood. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 2 to 6 PM Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.
