Anna Louise
Brunnemer
Dec 6, 1954 — Feb 14, 2024
Anna Louise Brunnemer, age 69 of Elwood, passed away peacefully this week reuniting her with her son, Craig and our Heavenly Father. Anna was born in Elwood on December 6th, 1954 to Robert and Nancy Callaway. She graduated in 1973 from Wendell L. Willkie High School; was active in band all four years; was a majorette; then a featured twirler. Anna retired in 2020 from Elwood High School after working 32 years as a high school secretary. She spent over 20 years as the high school's Registrar. Anna's pride and joy was the manner in which her two sons turned out from being raised. She was proud of the way they both excelled academically and athletically, finished their educations, and matured into responsible Christian men. She enjoyed following their school activities and sporting events across the Midwest.
The start of the 21st century saw the birth of three granddaughters within two years. Anna welcomed the challenge to buy completely different clothes and toys. She even used vacation time from work in order to baby-sit. Anna adored her granddaughters and would have done anything for them. Anna's memberships included East Main Street Christian Church, Delta Theta Tau Sorority, Elwood Ladies Golf Association, the former Elwood Country Club, and a charter member of Judy's Club. Anna's many interests were golf, feeding hummingbirds, gardening (especially geraniums), attracting butterflies, raising miniature Schnauzers, following Purdue football and basketball, The Masters, and March Madness.
Anna's family legacy includes her husband of 46 years, Tim Brunnemer; youngest son, Timmy (Julie) Brunnemer; three granddaughters, Madison, Payton, and Hailee Brunnemer; brother and sister-in-law, Rich (Janet) Brunnemer; Anna's mother, Nancy Callaway; two brothers, Duane and Ron Callaway; and several nieces and nephews. Anna was preceded in death by her dad, Bob Callaway; oldest son, Craig Brunnemer; and close friends, Julie Johnson, Jane Tracy, and Ann Shuster.
Visitation will be held 12:00 to 2:00 pm, Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm Thursday with a Delta Theta Tau Memorial Service followed by Rev. Roger Gardner of East Main Street Christian Church officiating. Entombment will follow the funeral at the Elwood City Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial Contributions may be made to Panther Pack Program which provides food on the weekend to high school kids.
