Alice "Joann" Prescott, age 85 of Saratoga, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2024 at Reid Health in Richmond after a sudden illness.  She was born Sept. 8, 1938 in Winchester, Indiana, the daughter of Harlan and Opal (Bond) Conyers.  Joann last worked at the Winchester Cinema in food service, and she also formerly worked at Westinghouse in Union City and Eagle Picher Manufacturing in Graybill for many years combined.  She enjoyed a simple life.  Joann especially enjoyed fishing, reading, and going to garage sales.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Joann's family includes daughter, Dana D. May (Mike Telker) of Brownsville; James D. (wife Samruay) Reier, Jr. of Sarasota, FL; special companion, James Reier, Sr. of Saratoga; 6 grandchildren, Alyssa (Steve) Gowyer of Dimondale, MI, Curtis Butt of Union City, OH, Emily May of Sarasota, FL, Zackary May of Sarasota, FL; Karleigh Reier of Florida, and Jarred Prescott of Oklahoma; and 2 great-grandchildren, Audrey and Caleb Gower of Michigan.  Joann was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry Prescott; son, Dane R. May; and two sisters, Betty Thornberry and Greta Burkett.

Joann's wishes were to be cremated.  A graveside service and burial will take place in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Union City at a later date.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.copherfeslermay.com.
